Illinois partner feedback
Some e-filing account holders primarily file for other people. LITEFile should not assume the account holder is always the filer/party.
Desired behavior
- During registration/onboarding, optionally ask whether the account is mainly used for the account holder's own filings or for someone else.
- Wherever filer/person information is collected, offer an explicit action to use the e-filing account's saved name/address/contact information rather than silently defaulting it.
- Support a filer who is not a party and clearly explain how to identify who they are filing on behalf of.
- In an existing case, keep existing case parties read-only when sourced from the court, then let the user identify the party they represent/file for.
- If the user is a third party/non-party filer, collect the additional information required by the EFSP/jurisdiction.
- Preserve user choices when moving backward/forward through the workflow.
