Cleared Index is a trust gateway for agent payments on Base (Check → Gateway → Witness).

We already route toward CDP / list Coinbase Developer Platform endpoints.

Request: Consider documenting a pre-pay Cleared Check (or linking our drop-in) in AgentKit / x402 examples so agents score before spend.

Follow-up (2026-08-25) — Check → Gateway habit

Cleared’s default agent path is now explicit:

1. lookup_merchant / Check (probe=false)
2. route_gateway (required on PASS — do not skip)
3. Pay only route.payTo
4. witness_settlement(tx)
