[Bug]: Slow hot reload

What happened?

Hi, I integrated the Tairo in an existing Nuxt project. It is working fine, however, hot-reload is painfully slow. Any minor change takes > 1 minutes to show up, and page usually reloads. I am not sure what is the issue. I am using yarn.

Node version - 18.18

Same here. Development using Tairo has always been slow for me. (using pnpm)

It’s so sad, makes the Dev process so frustrating. Has anyone been able to solve this?

I am seeing the same thing. Hot reload takes forever with Tairo. May be it has something to do with Nuxt layers, but not sure. In other projects with just CSS (no Tairo or other layers), hot reload is almost instantaneous.

I was also thinking that Nuxt layers could be the suspect. Shouldn't be that hard to figure out. I'll try and see if I can figure it out when I have some time.

@gertjanjansen I tried it. (updated nuxt, vite and excluded node_modules) but it didn't solve the issue.

Is anyone managed to solve this issue?

@Saquib764 I've upgraded nuxt as well and removed the .demo layer. I believe it's a little bit faster now, but still too slow. I haven't tried removing all layers yet (meaning: merging everything into one layer).

After upgrading, I am getting this error-

FATAL ERROR: Reached heap limit Allocation failed - JavaScript heap out of memory

I increased the memory to --max-old-space-size=12288 , still keep getting this error. Totally stuck now.

Its sad, I like Tairo, but it made development too slow and frustrating

The above issue was not related to Tairo. It was related to Nuxt UI. I upgraded to @nuxthq/studio": "^2.1.1" and the issue was fixed.

Withe latest version of Nuxt, hot reload is considerably faster - 4-7 seconds. I would like it be almost instantaneous, but this is much better than what we had before.

4-7 seconds is still extremely slow, right? I never experienced this with any other React of Vue project. I'm almost at the point of paying someone to digg into this.

It seems like "tairo" doesn't have a nuxthq/studio in the code. Did you add it yourself?
I'm also experiencing a slow hot reload.
