I maintain mcp-server-db2i, an open-source Model Context Protocol server for IBM DB2 for i. It lets AI assistants such as Claude and Cursor explore and query IBM i databases in plain language, safely:

• Read-only by design. Only SELECT statements run, and results are limited automatically.
• Works where IBM i runs. It connects through the IBM i Access ODBC driver, JT400 JDBC, or Mapepire over SSH when only SSH is open. It runs over stdio or HTTP, can be deployed with Docker, and can reach several systems from one server.
• Built for production. It includes column masking, audit logging, library allowlists and tool selection.
• Speaks your ERP. Business SQL tools and table notes are defined in YAML.
