Use the configured heating system for PID gains and options - #193
dajiaohuang wants to merge 1 commit into
Conversation
WalkthroughThe PID controller now reads the heating system from config entry data while retaining controller settings from options. The options flow selects cycle choices from the configured heating system. Tests cover PID gains and cycle choices when a legacy option differs. ChangesHeating system configuration

Set a valid default for the heat-pump cycle selector.
When a heat-pump entry has no saved CONF_CYCLES_PER_HOUR, get_options() supplies 4. The selector accepts only "2" and "3", so the default "4" can fail validation when the form is submitted. Use an allowed heat-pump default when the saved value is absent or invalid.
This became reachable for heat-pump entries whose heating system is stored only in config entry data. The merge base checked options, so it did not select this branch from config entry data alone.

PID creation reads the defaulted options dictionary, whose heating system is radiators, while setup stores the selected system in config entry data. Underfloor configurations consequently use radiator PID gains, and underfloor/heat-pump options show radiator cycle choices.
Pass config data to PID creation for both the main climate and room controllers, and read the setup system when building the system-configuration form. Stale legacy options cannot override setup data.
Validation: Python 3.13.16 / Home Assistant 2026.2.3 with the unchanged requirements_test.txt. Six of twelve new regression cases fail on the original source; all twelve pass after the repair. The independent branch's complete pytest suite passes 19 tests. Cases cover all three heating systems, main/room PID behavior, and form choices with absent or stale options. Tests run in an isolated network namespace with sockets disabled except Unix sockets, using the project's coordinator and HA fixtures. No actual devices, MQTT transport, or heating installation was exercised.
