Install the Extension

• Browser store

• Releases

  • Chromium: For browsers based on the Chromium engine, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Brave, and Vivaldi.
  • Firefox: For Mozilla Firefox and browsers based on the Gecko engine.

Development

Prerequisites

• Bun 1.4.4 (pinned in .bun-version and package.json)
• Firefox (for web-ext testing)

TypeScript stays pinned to 6.0.3 because template generation uses its compiler API, and Svelte Check and typescript-eslint do not support TypeScript 7 yet. TypeScript 7.0 does not provide the compiler API. Upgrade TypeScript when these tools support the new compiler together.

Build from Source

1. Clone & Enter:

   git clone https://github.com/AzPepoze/NewTube
   cd NewTube

2. Install Dependencies:

   bun install --frozen-lockfile

3. Build:

   bun run build

   The output will be in the out/dist directory.

Run the extension in development mode with hot-reloading:

# For Chromium
bun run dev:chromium

# For Firefox
bun run dev:firefox
