What changed

  • Added deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash: $0.14/$0.28, 1,048,576 / 65,536, toolCalling. Flags mirror deepseek-chat (the gateway serves both from the same upstream in non-thinking mode, so no reasoning flag and no long reasoning timeout). Also in the picker (before deepseek-chat), with pins deepseek-v4.1-flash, deepseek-v4-1-flash and v4.1-flash. Bare deepseek still points at deepseek-chat.
  • deepseek-chat / deepseek-reasoner renamed "(V4.1 Flash)" to match the gateway.
  • Retired: the gateway now returns 400 for nvidia/deepseek-v4-flash and bare deepseek-v4-flash; blockrun removed the entry and its redirect on 2026-10-20. nvidia/deepseek-v4-flash, deepseek-v4-flash and v4-flash now resolve to the free default free/nemotron-3.5-lightning, like the v3.2/v4-pro ids. They never move to the paid V4.1 Flash. nvidia/deepseek-v4-pro already followed lightning; the gateway still redirects it to nemotron-3-super-120b (probed: HTTP 200).
  • MODEL_ALIASES 292 → 295; brand-numbers.json updated to match. The blockrun-side bump is a separate PR.

No package.json change, no version bump.

Sources

curl https://blockrun.ai/api/v1/models and direct chat probes (2026-10-20); blockrun origin/main src/lib/models.ts and MODEL_REDIRECTS.

Checks

  • typecheck, lint, prettier: pass
  • vitest: 1207 passed. The 5 failures were timeouts on a machine at load average ~145, and those files pass when rerun alone. test/upstream-proxy.test.ts fails to load (undici bind TypeError on Node 22.14); it fails the same way on origin/main without this change.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added DeepSeek V4.1 Flash as a selectable model, including pricing, limits, tool-calling support, and visibility in model pickers.
    • Added DeepSeek V4.1 Flash to the list of top models.
    • Added paid aliases for the new model while preserving separate free-tier aliases.
  • Updates

    • Updated DeepSeek Chat and Reasoner labels to reflect V4.1 Flash.
    • Free DeepSeek V4 Flash identifiers now resolve to the free default model instead of selecting a paid model.

blockrun listed deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash on 2026-10-20 ($0.14/$0.28,
1M / 64K, same upstream and non-thinking mode as deepseek-chat) and renamed
deepseek-chat / deepseek-reasoner "(V4.1 Flash)". Registry entry with
deepseek-chat's flags, picker, explicit pins (deepseek-v4.1-flash,
deepseek-v4-1-flash, v4.1-flash), README rows; bare `deepseek` unchanged.

The same day blockrun removed nvidia/deepseek-v4-flash and its redirect: the
gateway now answers 400 Unknown model for it and for bare deepseek-v4-flash,
deliberately not moving pins onto the paid V4.1 Flash. The three aliases that
still named the free id (nvidia/deepseek-v4-flash, deepseek-v4-flash,
v4-flash) now follow the free default, nemotron-3.5-lightning, like the
v3.2/v4-pro ids already did — never the paid model. The free/deepseek-v4-flash
entry stays only so a direct pin is classified free.

MODEL_ALIASES 292 -> 295; brand-numbers.json bumped in lockstep.
