Review comments at @packaging/chocolatey/tools/chocolateybeforemodify.ps1:
- Around line 13-14: Update Get-PackageProcess and the surrounding
chocolateybeforemodify flow to resolve executable paths through a method that
works for inaccessible or 32-bit-query-limited processes, rather than excluding
entries with unusable Path values. If ownership still cannot be determined, stop
with a clear error before package modification; only act on processes owned by
this package and do not terminate every tachyon process indiscriminately.
Review comments at @README.md:
- Around line 230-231: Qualify the uninstall documentation in README.md and
CHANGELOG.md to state that autostart cleanup only applies to currently loaded
user hives, so entries for users not signed in may remain; do not claim
unconditional removal unless chocolateyuninstall.ps1 is updated to enumerate all
relevant user profiles.

…autostart cleanup

@coderabbitai review Both findings are addressed in 723d014: |

Both findings fixed in 723d014 (Win32_Process paths with a refusal when unknown; autostart cleanup documented as signed-in users only). CodeRabbit is rate limited and does not re-review commits it already saw.
Adds
packaging/chocolatey/, the source of thetachyonpackage on the Chocolatey Community Repository (packageSourceUrlpoints here).legal/VERIFICATION.txt) into the package folder, flattened sotachyon.exekeeps one path across upgrades; marks it as a GUI app so the shim returns at once (the first launch stays resident); adds an all-users Start menu shortcut.chocolateybeforemodify.ps1): finds Tachyon processes throughWin32_Process(paths for every user's processes when elevated) and closes those running from the package, with--quit(hot exit) when it is the only Tachyon in the session, otherwise by stopping only the package's processes. Another install such as the MSIX build is never touched. If a Tachyon process's path cannot be read, the change is refused rather than leaving files half-replaced.README install section and CHANGELOG (Unreleased) updated.
Tested on Windows 11 26340, elevated, with
choco installfrom the local package: 27/27 checks passed (install layout, signature, shim prints--version/--helpand returns at once, a window opens from the package copy, autostart entry points at the package exe, reinstall and uninstall while it runs close it, autostart survives an upgrade and is removed on uninstall, folder/shim/shortcut removed, an MSIX Tachyon running alongside left untouched). Not exercised: the graceful--quitbranch, because an MSIX Tachyon was running in the same session (the package then takes the stop branch by design).
