I am a teacher and I use Codly for my code examples. However, I have to print my documents in black&white at my school. In black&white, especially when the code blocks are a bit small, it is not necessarily obvious that line numbers are not part of the code.
To solve this, I would like to have the line numbers have a gray background, similar to the border (but I guess it could be up to the user to choose the background color). This makes the most sense when the line numbers are outside of the code block.
Here is an example of what it could look like (I have zebra off):
I could try contributing with some guidance! I believe this is where some option should be added to have a custom fill for line numbers specifically:
