Remove unused preview renders, their generator and gifenc dependency; retain the active README artwork. Streamline roadmap and maintenance docs, add a documentation index, correct publishing instructions and the landing fixture description. Give first-time contributors a fork-to-PR path, scope-specific checks and simpler issue/PR forms. Validation: npm run check (55 passed, one optional network test skipped), npm run check:docs and git diff --check.
