Foreglow Theme for Tmux
A tmux theme based on the Foreglow color palette.
The default variant is Foreglow (dark). See Choosing a variant below to use Afterglow, Alpenglow, or Airglow instead.
Add this to your .tmux.conf:
set -g @plugin 'foreglow/tmux'Then reload tmux and install:
prefix + IClone this repository or copy the theme file:
git clone https://github.com/foreglow/tmux ~/foreglow-tmuxAdd this to your .tmux.conf:
run-shell ~/foreglow-tmux/foreglow.tmuxThen reload tmux:
tmux source ~/.tmux.confThe
.tmuxfiles are executable shell scripts that apply the theme viatmux set-option, so they must be run withrun/run-shell(notsource/source-file).
Each variant is its own file: foreglow.tmux (dark, default), afterglow.tmux (light), alpenglow.tmux (rubescent), airglow.tmux (auroral).
-
Manual installation: swap the filename in the
run-shellline above, e.g.run-shell ~/foreglow-tmux/afterglow.tmux. -
TPM installation: TPM runs every
.tmuxfile in the plugin, andforeglow.tmuxalways applies last, so TPM alone always gives you the dark default. To use another variant with TPM, source it directly from TPM's plugin directory in a line placed after TPM's own initializer line (therun '~/.tmux/plugins/tpm/tpm'line, normally at the very bottom of.tmux.conf) so it overrides the default that TPM just applied:set -g @plugin 'foreglow/tmux' run '~/.tmux/plugins/tpm/tpm' # keep this at the bottom, as usual run-shell '~/.tmux/plugins/tmux/afterglow.tmux' # then override with your variant
tmux-set applies a variant to your current session immediately, no config edit or reload needed. Run it from any pane inside tmux:
./tmux-set afterglow # or: ./tmux-set afterglow.tmuxIt accepts any of foreglow, afterglow, alpenglow, airglow (with or without the .tmux suffix), and errors out with the list of valid names if you pass something else. Run it with no arguments to just see that list.
tmux source ~/.tmux.confTo move the status bar to the top, add this to your .tmux.conf before sourcing the theme:
