Prepares the GPU unlock so the only manual step is: open the notebook on Colab Pro, pick an L4/A100 runtime, Run All, send back the output.

  • Checks the 24 GB VRAM gate up front (T4 16 GB runtimes are refused by SP1 — a valid, documented result).
  • Installs rust 1.98.1 + protobuf-compiler, builds the cuda prover from the repo, applies the documented libcudart workaround.
  • Benchmarks BOTH formats with VRAM logging: V2 native (~1.8M cycles) and the legacy meta-emulated job (~169M cycles) that OOM-killed a 32 GB CPU host — filling the last untested cell of the preprint's hardware-class table.

Companion to docs/PREPRINT.md §7 and docs/DESIGN.md's GPU gate notes.

The GPU unlock reduced to: open the notebook, pick a >=24 GB GPU
runtime, Run All, send the output. Validates the SP1 24 GB VRAM gate,
builds the cuda prover, installs the documented libcudart workaround,
and benchmarks both formats: the V2 native job (~1.8M cycles) and the
legacy meta-emulated job (~169M cycles) that OOM-killed a 32 GB CPU
host — the measurement the preprint's hardware table needs.
