With "Worktree" on as the default, a new session in a folder that isn't a git repository failed to start, because claude --worktree has nothing to cut a worktree from. The quick session's folder is the common case.

Summary

  • Before starting a new Claude session with worktree set, the session launcher asks whether the folder is in a repository
  • If it isn't, the session starts without --worktree (and any worktree name); every other option is kept, and the skip is logged
  • Repositories and resumed sessions behave as before

The skip only goes to the log; the app shows nothing for it.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

With worktrees on by default, a new session in a folder that is not in a
git repository (the quick session's folder, say) failed to start: the CLI
has nothing to cut a worktree from. The launcher now asks git first and
drops the worktree options for such a folder, keeping the rest.
