Traces sent to a local observe daemon had empty inputs and outputs because content capture is opt-in, so Agent Forge couldn't show why a run failed. Agents built with createAgent now capture message content by default when LOUSHO_OBSERVE points at a loopback collector (127.0.0.1, localhost, ::1). captureContent: false turns it off; non-loopback collectors are unchanged. Docs state plainly that redactContent does not scrub message content.

Ticket: O6 (Forge Observe vs LangSmith evaluation follow-up)

Changes

  • test(observe): make the loopback redaction test falsifiable; clarify redactContent docs
  • feat(observe): capture message content by default on a local collector

Verification: focused vitest, tsc --noEmit, eslint on changed files (details in the review package); full suite and fallow run in CI.
