An agent-style workflow for researching Reddit demand, user pain points, market signals, competitor discussion, objections, buying intent, and product opportunities from posts and comments.
This repository contains a portable SKILL.md that can be installed into a Codex/agent skills directory and reused as a repeatable research method.
- Converts a broad research request into a concrete Reddit research plan.
- Uses three context-isolated sub-agents:
- Search Strategy Agent
- Evidence Collection Agent
- Insight Report Agent
- Preserves source traceability and original user language.
- Separates demand, sentiment, curiosity, and virality.
- Outputs a short chat brief or full traceable files:
report.txtinsights.csvraw.json
Use this skill when you need to research:
- Reddit user pain points
- alternatives and workarounds
- competitor comparisons
- product opportunity signals
- market language and objections
- buying intent or replacement intent
- topic opportunities from Reddit evidence
Do not use it for general web search, content writing, or social-media copy without research.
Copy this folder into your skills directory, for example:
cp -R reddit-research-agent-skill ~/.codex/skills/reddit-research-agentThen restart or refresh your agent environment so the skill list is reloaded.
For full research tasks, the skill should produce:
report.txt
insights.csv
raw.json
See templates/insights-schema.csv for the expected insight columns.
