AI-Assisted Bible Translation for Oral Communities

What is this?

Oral Bridge helps translation teams create natural oral Bible translations. It uses AI to analyze biblical text and generate translations that sound natural when spoken aloud.

How it works

The app guides you through 4 simple steps:

1. Meaning Map — AI analyzes the Bible passage structure
2. Discourse — AI adds narrative flow and connections
3. Translation — AI creates an oral translation in your target language
4. Review — AI checks accuracy and suggests improvements

Getting Started

1. Open the app in your web browser
2. Enter your Claude API key
3. Type a Bible passage (example: Ruth 1:1-5)
4. Choose your target language and audience
5. Click "Start Translation"
6. Follow the steps — review each result before continuing

Getting an API Key

1. Go to console.anthropic.com
2. Create an account or sign in
3. Go to API Keys
4. Click "Create Key"
5. Copy the key and paste it into the app

Cost

Claude API is pay-per-use:

• Claude Sonnet 4: ~$0.08–0.15 per passage (recommended)
• Claude Opus 4: ~$0.30–0.50 per passage (highest quality)

For Team Leaders

You can:

1. Create one API key with billing
2. Share that key with your team
3. Monitor usage at console.anthropic.com

Deployment

Option 1: Share the file

• Download index.html
• Send it to your team
• They open it in their browser

Option 2: GitHub Pages

• Upload files to GitHub
• Enable Pages in Settings
• Share the link with your team
