Summary

Adds Python 3.15 support and builds cp315 wheels.

  • pyproject.toml: adds cp315-* to the cibuildwheel build selector, plus Python version classifiers for 3.10–3.15 and PyPy.
  • .github/workflows/wheels.yml: upgrades cibuildwheel from 3.3.0 to 4.3.3. Version 3.3.0 can't build 3.15 wheels; 4.3.1 or later builds the final 3.15.0 release by default.
  • thirdParty/pybind11: moves the submodule from v3.0.1 to v3.1.0, the first pybind11 release tested against Python 3.15.

Testing

  • Built and installed from source on CPython 3.15.0rc3 (macOS arm64): all 439 tests pass.
  • cibuildwheel@4.3.3 --print-build-identifiers lists cp315 builds for Linux, macOS and Windows. The existing PyPy settings (pp310/pp311, pypy/pypy-eol) still resolve.

Notes

cibuildwheel 4.0 changed two defaults:

  • On Windows it now runs delvewheel as the repair step, which copies required DLLs into the wheel. If the Windows wheel job fails, setting CIBW_REPAIR_WHEEL_COMMAND_WINDOWS: "" turns it off.
  • It runs abi3audit after repair, which only affects stable-ABI (abi3) wheels. This project doesn't build those.
