Description
Summary
Addresses PowerMCP issue #76 by extending the existing non-blocking PSCAD simulation workflow with an explicit run-to-completion tool.
Adds run_project_to_completion to start a simulation and poll until a terminal outcome or timeout.
Reports build and simulation progress through MCP logging.
Distinguishes confirmed completion from compilation failure and a run that never started.
Returns explicit outcomes for timeouts, status-query failures, invalid parameters, and start failures.
Inspects PSCAD build messages when the project returns to idle before running.
Adds regression tests for successful completion, compilation errors, idle-before-start, timeout, licensing, and error paths.
Testing
Regression tests have been added using mocked PSCAD interactions so they do not require a live PSCAD installation.
CI status: Pending verification. No claim is made that all tests pass until the required checks have completed successfully.
