Hi, I'm Jingyi.
I'm a student working around BCI, behavioral neuroscience, and the small systems that make experiments easier to run and reason about.
I like building things, but I try to treat building as a way of thinking: a small tool can expose a vague assumption, make an experiment repeatable, or turn a question into something I can actually test.
- How to make behavioral and neural experiments more closed-loop, observable, and forgiving.
- How AI tools can help with research without replacing the slow work of understanding.
- How much of "intelligence" in a lab system comes from good interfaces, clean feedback, and careful instrumentation.
I keep this page curated on purpose. Not every repository belongs on a personal homepage.
| Project | Why it is here |
|---|---|
| Harness | A skill pack that gives AI coding assistants software engineering principles. |
| MiceCam | A modern C++ camera capture system for behavioral recording with plugin-style multi backend support |
| linear-light | Treating Linear issues as durable AI agent sessions instead of disposable chat threads. |
| Genesis | An LLM-based sociology simulation engine for watching simple agent behavior turn into social structure. |
| com.harp.unity | A minimal Unity package for Harp device communication, built to remove dependency friction. |
I spend a lot of time trying to understand what AI tools are actually good for in research and personal work. Most of my attempts are small, incomplete, and a little messy; that is part of the point.
Some themes I keep coming back to:
- AI as a thinking partner, not just a code generator.
- Personal knowledge systems that stay useful after the initial excitement fades.
- Agents that help with boring research maintenance work: checking, organizing, monitoring, and remembering.
- Interfaces that make human judgment easier instead of hiding it.
- BCI
- Lab automation and hardware-software interfaces.
- AI agents for research workflows.
- Notes, second brains, and ways to think more clearly with tools.
If something here overlaps with what you are thinking about, feel free to open an issue on a related repo or start a conversation.
