Summary

Get antenna (and ml backends) up and running on the some of the laptops that will be brought to Panama

Detailed Description

See instructions to get started

First, get the platform running locally and document the requirement.

Set and test the ML backend

Do a test run to see if things are working as intended (and potentially offline)

Implementation Details

  • New dev test running locally Antenna & ami-data-companion
  • Update docs (wiki) on how to connect Antenna to the data companion
  • Consider making prebuilt images for UI & antenna backend & real ML processing service
  • Document how to import & serve images that are on your local machine. Possibly simplify

    @vanessavmac agreed to test running a new model locally, wrap it in our FastAPI request/response schema, and add it to docker compose to use as a local processing service.

    TODOs for Vanessa from Thursday Sync Up (Ready for Monday/Weekend)

    • run ml backends in separate compose stack
    • rename example --> minimal; custom --> example

    Goal: a general framework/template for using the FastAPI request/response schema for any model provided by user inside ml backends

    • rename make_detections ? look closer at data companion
    • Pass bounding box into classifier; similar to ami data companion (detector --> detection responses with only bounding boxes; detection response --> classifier --> detection response with classifications)
    • Fix up README
    • Update the template to achieve our goal (basically ami-data-companion without all the dependencies; a basic framework with minimal dependencies)
