SAMLab — Submarine Acoustic Monitoring Laboratory is a cross-platform graphical software application written in Python for analysing, visualising, and reporting results from long-term Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) campaigns. Built for large-scale acoustic workflows, SAMLab helps researchers and practitioners explore, process, and review thousands of hours of recordings through an intuitive GUI and an extensible plugin system for species-specific detectors and custom analysis modules. From campaign management and acoustic visualisation to detection review and reproducible reporting, SAMLab provides a flexible environment for turning raw acoustic data into actionable insight.
The software works well with Python 3.11.9.
