Summary

Finalizes the repository for a truthful v2.0.0 release and Codex for Open Source application.

Included

  • remove wording that implied v2.0.0 was already published
  • make CITATION.cff release-date neutral until the tag exists
  • add maintainer release checklist
  • add dated OSS implementation/adoption evidence snapshot
  • configure GitHub generated release-note categories
  • remove an unused CLI import

Evidence policy

The repository records only verified adoption signals. Current verified GitHub metrics are 1 star, 0 forks, 0 published releases, with no verified external contributor PRs or public dependents. No synthetic adoption will be claimed.

Remaining release action

The connected GitHub integration available to this workflow can inspect repositories and mutate files/branches/PRs, but it does not expose a tag/release creation mutation. The actual v2.0.0 tag/release therefore remains a GitHub maintainer action after this PR is merged.
