# Microsoft Store — Plan

**Date:** 2026-09-30
**Status:** the code, the packaging and the privacy policy are done (Part 5 has the detail).
The Partner Center product is **RSSQuick**, an MSIX or PWA app, Store ID 9NVGDX3NP0SJ,
and its identity is in `build/store/identity.json`. (It was first created as an "EXE or MSI app",
which has no package identity and takes installer links instead of a package; the product type
cannot be changed, so it was deleted and re-created.) The first submission is 1.4.0. The name **RSSQuick** is reserved in
Partner Center. No release goes out until the Store package has been tried end to end, so the
first Store submission and the next GitHub release are the same version.
**Status (2026-10-02):** 1.4.0 is in certification, publishing held until Publish now. It is the
same 1.4.0 released on GitHub and TestFlight on 2026-10-01, packaged from the `v1.4.0` tag.
The Partner Center product is **RSSQuick**, an MSIX or PWA app, Store ID **9NFGQ354JDG5**, and its
identity is in `build/store/identity.json`.

Three things learned getting there, so they are not relearned:

- **Create the product as "MSIX or PWA app".** An "EXE or MSI app" has no package identity and
takes installer links, not a package, and a product's type cannot be changed.
- **The publisher display name comes from the account.** It was changed from "Kelly's Corner" to
Kelly Ford under Account settings → Legal info → Contact info, and took about a day to reach the
product's identity page. The package's `PublisherDisplayName` must then match it.
- **The package Name's prefix (`4055KellysCorner`) belongs to the developer account** and never
changes, even for a product deleted and created again after the rename. It appears only in
folder names and developer tools, never on the Store page, Start menu or Installed apps.

QuickMail's `docs/planning/microsoft-store-msix-plan.md` is the house reference for this, and
most of what made it hard there does not apply here: RSS Quick has no saved passwords, no

4. **Kelly, in Partner Center**: copy the three identity values into `build/store/identity.json`;
publish `docs/privacy.html` to theideaplace.net and give Partner Center its URL; set up the
listing from `docs/store/LISTING.md`; age rating
questionnaire; screenshots.
5. **Release**: `prepare-release.ps1 1.4.0`, tag, publish the GitHub draft, upload
`RSSQuick-1.4.0.msixbundle` to Partner Center, submit.
4. **Partner Center** — done: identity in `build/store/identity.json`; `docs/privacy.html` published
at theideaplace.net; listing, age ratings and screenshot entered from `docs/store/LISTING.md`.
5. **Release** — done: 1.4.0 released on GitHub and TestFlight on 2026-10-01; the Store bundle,
built from the `v1.4.0` tag, submitted on 2026-10-02 with publishing held for Publish now.
6. **After it is live**: a Store link in the README and on the projects page.
