Eve Text Editor v1.0.0 - Initial Release

Welcome to the first release of Eve, a buggy text editor built on C.

Eve is a simple text editor that introduces a crude implementation of the Piece Table data structure with custom-written dynamic arrays. This modular approach has been backed with unit tests written for both data structures.

Eve uses a Makefile build system.

Getting Started

The fastest way to experience Eve:

git clone [https://github.com/](https://github.com/)[YOUR_USERNAME]/eve.git
cd eve
make run

Or to install system-wide by:

make clean && make
sudo make install
eve [filename]

The [filename] is optional; the F3 also grants this option.

Requirements

  • GCC compiler
  • Make build system
  • Linux/Unix environment (tested on WSL)

Usage

  • For additional commands, type make help.
  • Within the editor, Eve can offer help for its F-keys by pressing the F6 key.

Eve is a broken experience yet a developer's first lovable child.
