Closes #193

Summary

Prepare v4.1 with redesigned Settings, interactive balance/portfolio charts, native Monochrome and Red Filter palettes, calendar-aligned history and previous-year cash comparisons, and date-grouped review items.

Changes

• Audit every merged change since v4.0 and replace Unreleased with a grouped v4.1 recap, highlights and upgrade notes; retain an empty Unreleased section and all published release history.
• Set the root application version and both root lockfile version fields to 4.1, without dependency or independent MCP version changes.
• Update README release/changelog links for planned UTC publication on 2026-10-28. Draft GitHub release notes match the changelog section verbatim.
• No new database migrations, authentication configuration or MCP tools are introduced relative to v4.0.

Verification

• Pinned Node 22.23.2: full npm test passed: 582 client, 225 API, 51 MCP and 29 deployment tests, plus the compiled Worker/D1 integration suite (two existing opt-in history benchmarks skipped).
• npm run typecheck passed for all workspaces and integration tests.
• VITE_API_AUTH_MODE=public VITE_API_DOMAIN=localhost:8787 npm run build passed, including PWA generation; the existing Vite bundle-size advisory remains.
• npm run lint -w client -- --max-warnings=0 passed.
• Node 26.5.0: all 582 client tests passed across 63 files.
• Audited all eight merged main PRs (Refresh area charts and add native monochrome and red themes #178, Group Needs review transactions by descending date #180, Keep chart toggle buttons on the legend row #182, Align Cash Balance Trend timeframes to the calendar #184, Use calendar-aligned axes on every date chart #186, Redesign Settings with grouped preferences and responsive category management #188, Fix Settings test storage cleanup on Node 26 #190, Require complete CI before merging to main #192) and all 14 non-merge commits in v4.0..origin/main. Each PR is linked in the new changelog section, all commits belong to those PRs, and no direct main commits or new SQL migrations were found.
• Parsed package files to confirm all three root versions agree on 4.1 and the lockfile changes only the two root version values. Published changelog history remains identical; README anchor/date and extracted release notes agree.
• git diff --check passed; reviewed the four-file release diff.

Merge and publication require explicit user approval and successful aggregate CI. Before publication, retarget the draft to the reviewed merge commit and verify the UTC publication date against the changelog. Deployment is separate.
