Brother host-based lasers such as the HL-2130 understand neither PCL nor PostScript, so none of the bundled Gutenprint drivers can drive them: the add-printer list offers only Gutenprint entries and the printer silently ignores every job. Brother's own Linux driver is an i386/glibc binary and does not run on Alpine.
This PR compiles the open-source brlaser driver (v6.2.8, GPL-2.0) into the image, vendored under
cups/brlaser/in the same way as the Kyocera and Dymo drivers.Changes
cups/Dockerfile: build and install brlaser with cmake (build deps removed afterwards). Install paths are pinned to/usr/share/cupsand/usr/lib/cupsbecauseCUPS_DATADIRpoints at/share.cups/brlaser/: vendored brlaser v6.2.8 source.Testing
validate_addon.pypasses.CUPS_DATADIRset as in the image:lpinfo -mlistsdrv:///brlaser.drv/br2130.ppd Brother HL-2130 series, using Owl-Maintain/brlaser v6.2.8.cupsfilterwith the generated HL-2130 PPD: ghostscript → rastertobrlaser complete without errors and output valid PJL + Brother raster data.-Tested on Home Assistant with a Brother HL-2130 over USB: prints correctly.
