Andrea Tontini

Software engineer · From application architecture to hardware interfaces

I’m interested in how software behaves beyond the happy path: under load, with limited resources, and at the boundary with hardware. Welcome to my GitHub — a collection of open-source contributions, distributed computing examples, and research code.

About me

My interests span higher-level application development with C# and .NET, software architecture, and embedded systems and firmware. I’m particularly interested in working closer to hardware: industrial automation, end-of-line testing, CAN communication, and hardware/software integration.

I care about reliability, maintainability, and making good use of memory and compute.

Beyond code, I contribute articles and help organize events with Italian Embedded, connecting people interested in embedded systems. I’m also an organizer of Rust Milano, the Milan Rust community.

Technologies & focus

Area Technologies and context
Languages C, C++, Rust, C#, Python, TypeScript
Embedded systems Embedded Linux, Yocto, Zephyr, Embassy, Segger J-Link
Communication & integration CAN, D-Bus, KWP2000, ANT+, BLE / GATT, TCP / UDP sockets
Applications & visualization Qt, Angular, Three.js, GraphQL, Flutter
Quality & diagnostics Cppcheck, CodeChecker, Valgrind, GoogleTest, Jenkins, CVE / SBOM analysis
Parallel computing MPI, GPI-2 / GASPI, Slurm

Open-source contributions & forks

Public upstream projects where I have authored merged pull requests, including projects whose forks I no longer keep. Refreshed weekly; open or unmerged PRs, issues, reviews, and direct commits are not included in this list.

Contributed projects (merged pull requests)

Other current forks

Forks alone do not imply an upstream contribution.
