UpsiRinse

A fork of Rinse by Otari, for WoW 1.12 / Turtle-derived servers.

Rinse helps healers strip debuffs off the raid with one keypress. UpsiRinse keeps all of that and adds an encounter browser: pick a raid, pick a boss, and see every debuff that fight can land on your raid which the addon is able to remove — grouped by dispel school, with per-spell control over what gets ignored, hidden, or cured first.

Encounter browser

Open it with the book icon on the Rinse bar, or /rinse bosses.

Encounter browser

The left pane is a raid → boss tree. Each boss shows a count of how many dispellable debuffs it has, and bosses with nothing to strip are greyed out, so you can see at a glance where the work is. The right pane lists that boss's debuffs under colour-coded school headings.

Every debuff has three toggles:

Column Effect
Blacklist Hides the debuff and every other debuff of its school on that player, so you cannot strip it by accident. For things that punish you for dispelling them — Seed of Corruption, Mutating Injection, Wyvern Sting.
Hide Hides only that debuff. Others of the same school still show.
Priority Cure it before anything else in the raid.

Per-class scoping

Click a debuff's name to limit its priority or its hiding to specific classes.

Class scoping

So you can prioritise Tranquilizing Poison only when it lands on warriors, or hide Ignite Mana for everyone who has no mana bar, without affecting anyone else. Upstream Rinse had a hardcoded priority list and per-class hiding only through a separate text-entry panel; here both are per-spell and configurable in place.

Shaman cleansing totems

Enable Cleansing Totems in the options (shamans only). When someone in your own party has a poison or disease, Rinse offers Poison Cleansing Totem / Disease Cleansing Totem at the top of the list instead of a direct cure — the button reads Totem - <debuff>.

Totems are off the global cooldown in 1.12, so dropping one costs you nothing — you keep your cast for whoever the totem cannot reach — and it then keeps curing by itself, where a direct cure spends a GCD on every single debuff. Cleansing totems only pulse on your own subgroup, so Rinse will not offer one for a raider outside your party and falls back to the normal cure there.

Where the encounter data comes from

The shipped list is not guesswork. For every zone with combat-log coverage it was built by:

  1. reading aura_cast events out of Chronicle raid logs — every aura an NPC actually applied to a player,
  2. resolving the caster's creature ID to a boss name,
  3. taking each spell's dispel school from the server's own spell data rather than assuming it,
  4. and using Chronicle's own boss/trash flag to decide what is a boss and what belongs under Trash & Adds.

Anything that did not resolve against the live server was dropped. That process corrected a number of things that "everyone knows" but that are wrong in practice — most notably Chromaggus's Brood Afflictions are four different schools (Blue is Magic, Black is Curse, Red is Disease, Green is Poison, and Bronze is not dispellable at all).

Zones without log coverage — Timbermaw Hold, Dire Maul, the world bosses, Karazhan Crypt — are hand-authored and will be less complete. Debuffs whose school could not be confirmed are shown as Unknown in grey; they are still fully configurable, and the school fills itself in the first time the addon sees the debuff.

Learning in-game

The addon records any dispellable debuff it actually sees, tagged with the zone and the boss you were fighting, and merges it into the browser marked with *. Learning only runs in zones the database knows about, or anywhere while you are in a raid group, so ordinary questing does not fill it with noise.

Installing

Extract into Interface\AddOns\ so you have Interface\AddOns\UpsiRinse\UpsiRinse.toc.

Remove or disable the original Rinse folder first. UpsiRinse deliberately keeps the same frame names and saved variables as upstream, so your existing settings carry straight over — but that also means the two cannot be loaded at the same time.

Commands

Command Action
/rinse Cleanse the top debuff (also /upsirinse)
/rinse bosses Open the encounter browser
/rinse options Options
/rinse skip Skip list
/rinse prio Player priority list
/rinse versions Version check across the raid
