Authority and scope

Implements the owner's rule: before reviewing evidence, decide whether the listing is a tool built for agents, rather than a human-first app with an API or MCP. Only built-for-agents products belong in the directory.

Changes

  • Require bounded pass-fit / fail-fit / unclear-fit decisions recording intended user, core job, and built-for-agents rationale before evidence review.
  • Limit the fit decision to product description, operating model, and necessary canonical homepage positioning; prohibit evidence/docs/MCP/implementation/pricing/licence/validation rescue.
  • Stop failing candidates with nonacceptance; hold unclear candidates. Only passing candidates receive full evidence, schema, and contradiction review.
  • Preserve agent-oriented infrastructure, protocols, and agent-builder eligibility without agent-only origins or exclusive use. Prevent agent-enabling, integration depth/tool count, or internal human-serving AI from bypassing fit.
  • Require separate owner approval for historical reassessments/public corrections.
  • Add editorial-copy regression tests. No listings, category records, submissions, workflows, or shared skills changed.

Verification

  • PATH="/opt/homebrew/bin:$PATH" npm test: 143 pass, 1 skip (existing hard-coded companion-checkout test), 0 fail. Initial macOS system Bash run lacked mapfile; rerun with installed Bash 5.3 passed.
  • npm run validate:content -- --require-submitters: passed (17 categories, 66 tools, 1 redirect/retirement).
  • git diff --check: passed.

Development PR only: no merge, deployment, or historical listing reassessment is authorized.
