   ✅ Unit Tests and CI Integration Complete

   I've successfully added comprehensive unit tests to the Pick Quote extension and integrated automated testing into the CI pipeline.

   What Was Done

   1. Test Framework Setup

   • Configured Jest with TypeScript support
   • Added fake-indexeddb for database testing
   • Set up polyfills for Node.js environment (TextEncoder, crypto.subtle, structuredClone)
   • Created test helpers and mocks for browser extension APIs

   2. Test Coverage (59 tests total)

   Utils Module (20 tests) - src/utils/index.test.ts

   • SHA-256 hash generation with various inputs
   • Item hash computation for deduplication
   • URL formatting and path truncation
   • Edge cases: empty strings, Unicode, invalid URLs

   Database Module (26 tests) - src/database/index.test.ts

   • Item CRUD operations (add, update, delete, export)
   • Search and filtering by type, site, keyword, date range, category
   • Category management (create, update, delete, list)
   • Deduplication logic verification
   • IndexedDB transaction handling

   Export Module (13 tests) - src/export/zipExport.test.ts

   • ZIP file generation with markdown content
   • Image extraction from data URLs
   • Multiple item types (text, image, link, snapshot)
   • Edge cases: empty arrays, missing metadata

   3. CI/CD Integration

   • Created GitHub Actions workflow (.github/workflows/test.yml)
   • Configured to run on push and pull requests
   • Tests run on Node.js 18.x and 20.x
   • Coverage reporting integration ready

   Test Results

   Test Suites: 3 passed, 3 total
   Tests:       59 passed, 59 total
   Snapshots:   0 total
   Time:        5.02 s
   

   Pull Request

   Created PR #65 with all changes: #65

   The CI workflow will automatically run tests on every future push and pull request, ensuring code quality and preventing regressions.
