Use the package manage NPM to install the package:
npm install @croct/timeOffsets for region-based zones come from Intl. Daylight savings gaps and
overlaps are fully supported, but Intl only reports the offset in effect at a
point in time, which leads to three limits:
- Standard time and daylight savings time cannot be told apart, since both look
the same through
Intl. - There is no list of transitions to read, so
getNextTransitionandgetPreviousTransitionsearch about five years from the given instant and returnnullpast that. Checking whether a local date-time falls in a gap or an overlap does not need the list, and has no such limit. - Offsets before 1970 depend on the
Intldata of the runtime, and some environments drop the early history of some zones. - The data is only reachable for the points in time a native date object can represent, roughly 273,790 years around 1970, so region-based zones reject the instants and local date-times beyond that range rather than guess an offset. The bound for a local date-time is a few days tighter, as resolving one reads the offsets around it.
Contributions to the package are always welcome!
