A knowledge management system structure designed for AI-assisted personal knowledge management.
This repository provides a foundational folder structure for building a "Second Brain" - a personal knowledge management system that leverages AI agents to help you capture, process, synthesize, and publish information.
Second_Brain_Core/
├── source_documents/ # Raw original materials (PDFs, spreadsheets, downloads)
├── ingested_documents/ # Processed, AI-ready markdown versions
├── user_created_documents/ # Your original analysis, notes, and synthesis
└── published_documents/ # Finalized content ready for sharing
Source → Ingest → Create → Publish
1. SOURCE: Add raw documents (PDFs, Excel, articles)
2. INGEST: Convert to markdown for AI processing
3. CREATE: Write analysis, notes, and insights
4. PUBLISH: Finalize and share externally
Each folder contains a 1model_instructions.md file that provides:
- Context for AI agents working in that folder
- Workflow guidelines and best practices
- Document templates and naming conventions
- Quality standards and checklists
These instructions help AI assistants (like Claude, GPT, etc.) understand how to work within your knowledge management system.

- Capture everything - Don't rely on memory; externalize knowledge
- Process for understanding - Convert to formats you can search and analyze
- Synthesize insights - Create original work from your sources
- Share what's valuable - Publish to help others and solidify understanding
