XML::Feed->new,XML::Feed->parse, andXML::Feed::Entry->newbuilt a class name by interpolating the caller-suppliedformatargument and loaded it via stringeval. Nothing constrained that value, so a format string containing a semicolon (e.g.format=Atom; system(...)) would run arbitrary Perl code — a realistic risk givenformatis often sourced from a query parameter.Changes
lib/XML/Feed.pm: extended the existingBEGINblock to build a%formattershash alongside@formatters, mapping each format discovered viaModule::Pluggable(e.g.Atom,RSS) to a true value.XML::Feed->new/XML::Feed->parse: validateformatagainst%formattersand fail (croak/error) before the string ever reacheseval "use $format_class".lib/XML/Feed/Entry.pm: applies the same check via%XML::Feed::formatters(addeduse XML::Feed ();to ensure it's populated when loaded standalone), sinceXML::Feed::Entry->newhas the identical vulnerable pattern.t/32-format-injection.tcovering%XML::Feed::formatterscontents and confirming injected format strings are rejected without execution acrossnew/parse/Entry->new.
