pr-ready: gate clears a log only when its BLOCKING findings are all vouched (mr-ik7) - #216
Conversation
… (mr-ik7) gateReviewLogs used the lenient reconcileReview, whose ClassifyReviewFindings skips finding IDs the ledger does not know — so resolving the IDs a ledger happened to know retired a committed log that also listed a blocker nobody's ledger ever held. The gate now uses the same strict reviewstate.LogResolvedInLedger predicate status uses (an unknown ID is an unvouched blocker); the rendered evidence keeps its lenient reading. Regression test + ARCHITECTURE note.

The gate now uses a new reviewstate.LogBlockersResolvedInLedger, strict about the log's BLOCKING findings only: it iterates the new Summary.BlockingFindingIDs (parsed from the log's '## Blocking Findings' section), requires each to be a known, resolved blocker-class row, and uses BlockingFindingCount as the tripwire against a pruned/unknown blocker. An advisory or quoted id is not a blocker and must not keep a log unresolved forever. The rendered evidence keeps its lenient reading; status keeps the stricter LogResolvedInLedger.

Summary by CodeRabbit
WalkthroughReview-log parsing now identifies blocker IDs from the first “Blocking Findings” section. PR-ready gate filtering checks those IDs against the findings ledger. The pull request also adds metareview records for the blocker change and a separate review-loop run. ChangesPR-ready blocker reconciliation

Priority: ⬇️ Low Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes Change: Bug fix Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to The new pr-ready gate decides from committed review-log markdown which findings are blockers. Two parsing gaps remain. Example code inside a finding can hide a later blocker, so a log with an unresolved blocker can be cleared. An ID mentioned in a finding's evidence text can also block a log that should clear. These gaps should be fixed before merge. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 4 | ❌ 1❌ Failed checks (1 warning)

code blocks before processing headings; only treat headings outside fences as
opening or closing the blocking section. Recognize a closing fence only when it
uses the opening character family, is at least as long, and has only trailing
whitespace. Add a regression test for the described ledger with no local blocker
count, verifying the unknown blocker is not treated as resolved.
- Around line 271-272: Update the ID collection in the review-log parsing flow
around `inBlockingFindings` so `BlockingFindingIDs` receives only IDs from
finding declarations, such as headings, not references found in descriptions or
evidence; keep all scraped IDs in `FindingIDs`. Add a test showing an unknown ID
in a resolved blocker’s description does not prevent
`LogBlockersResolvedInLedger` from returning true.

…abbit) CodeRabbit on #216: a quoted mrvf- id in a finding's evidence (or inside a fenced code block) must not join the blocking set, and a heading inside a fence must not change the section state. BlockingFindingIDs now takes only '### mrvf-...' declaration headings, and parseMarkdown skips fenced content.

…fixes (#219) * Release 0.14.1: judge isolation, evidence shapes, gate and Stop-hook fixes Bump the version in every manifest and write the 0.14.1 CHANGELOG entry from every PR merged since 0.14.0 (#214 claude judge isolation, #215 freeform evidence shapes, #216 pr-ready blocking-finding gate, #217 Stop-hook loop guard). * Release 0.14.1: pr-ready review logs, FSM bundle and the two stale-finding overrides
Fixes bead mr-ik7 (P2): the pr-ready gate could silently retire a committed review log that still listed a blocker no ledger ever held.
The bug
gateReviewLogsdecided a log was historical via the lenientreconcileReview→reviewstate.ClassifyReviewFindings, which skips any finding ID the ledger does not know. So resolving (fixing or overriding) the IDs a local ledger happened to hold retired a log that also listed an unknown blocker — whilestatus(which uses the strictLogResolvedInLedger, "unknown ID = unvouched blocker") still reported it blocking. A finding silently ceased to gate. The fix
Summary.BlockingFindingIDs(new):parseMarkdownnow records the finding IDs under the log's first## Blocking Findingssection (level-2 or level-3). Only the first section counts, so a## Blocking Findingsquoted from an embedded PR description can't re-open it and leak foreign IDs.reviewstate.LogBlockersResolvedInLedger(new gate predicate): strict about the log's BLOCKING IDs — each must be a ledger-known, blocking-class, terminally-resolved row — while deliberately not blocking on the advisory/quoted IDs that also land inFindingIDs(those would otherwise pin a log forever on something nobody can act on).BlockingFindingCount(from the run record) is the tripwire against a pruned/unknown blocker; a known-open blocker anywhere still blocks; a log with no such section falls back to the strictLogResolvedInLedger.gateReviewLogsnow uses it.statuskeeps the stricterLogResolvedInLedger; the rendered evidence keeps its plain lenient reading (it renders, it does not gate).Review
Reviewed with adversarial
review-looprounds (pi subagents). The rounds caught a first cut that reusedLogResolvedInLedgerwholesale — which over-blocks, because real logs carry advisorymrvf-IDs under## Advisory Findingsthat the #188 importer never makes known — and the parser section-injection path.metareview review pr-ready→ PASS. Full suite,go vet,golangci-lintclean;internal/reviewlog,internal/reviewstate,internal/prreadyat 100% coverage.Residual advisory (confirmed, filed, not a blocker): the gate still trusts a committed log's markdown to enumerate its blockers when there is no local run record (the pre-existing #147 markdown-trust surface); the new predicate is strictly stricter than the one it replaces.
Note
Medium Risk
Changes when pr-ready clears historical review logs—a core merge gate—with new markdown parsing; behavior is fail-closed for unknown blockers but could leave more logs blocking than before.
Overview
Fixes mr-ik7: pr-ready no longer drops a review log from the gate just because the ledger resolved every finding ID it knew about, while an unknown blocking ID from the log’s
## Blocking Findingssection was still unvouched.Parsing:
reviewlog.SummarygainsBlockingFindingIDs, filled from the first##/### Blocking Findingssection using declared### mrvf-…headings only (not prose quotes, not fenced examples, not a second quoted section). Fence-aware parsing avoids treating code blocks as structure.Gate logic: New
reviewstate.LogBlockersResolvedInLedgerrequires each blocking-section ID to be ledger-known and terminally resolved, honorsBlockingFindingCountfrom the run record, still blocks on any open blocker-class row inFindingIDs, and ignores unknown advisory IDs that would otherwise pin logs forever. Logs without a blocking section fall back to strictLogResolvedInLedger.gateReviewLogsswitches from lenientreconcileReviewto this predicate;statusand evidence rendering stay on their existing stricter/lenient paths.Docs & tests:
ARCHITECTURE.mddocuments the split; unit tests cover parsing edge cases and gate behavior (unknown blockers vs advisory-only unknowns).Reviewed by Cursor Bugbot for commit d34d5a5. Bugbot is set up for automated code reviews on this repo. Configure here.
