Gaps found while making markdown survive a round trip through the WYSIWYG editor (markdown → HTML → markdown): the renderer lost or misread what a converter has to write.

  • Backslash escapes of ASCII punctuation (\*, \_, \[, \<, \# at a line start…). Only punctuation: C:\Users stays.
  • Code spans of any number of backticks, with the CommonMark padding space: `` a ` b ``.
  • Hard breaks: \ or two spaces at the end of a line → <br>.
  • title on links and images (was dropped).
  • Fences of 3+ backticks or tildes; a fence closes only with one at least as long — a ````` block can hold ```` ones.

Existing output is unchanged otherwise (42 existing markdown tests pass, 5 new). 1261 tests in all.
