swift-actions/setup-swift@v3 (#57) fails on Linux while verifying the toolchain signature with gpg. Run the Linux job in swift:<version> images instead, like the Cross-Compile jobs, so Linux CI no longer depends on setup-swift. Install python3 for check-inlinable.sh if the image lacks it. Why
Renovate's #57 (
swift-actions/setup-swiftv2 → v3) is not mergeable: v3 fails on Linux while verifying the toolchain signature (gpg --verifyexits with 2), and it crashes on macOS 6.1. The same failures showed up in September and again after rebasing today.Change
The Linux job now runs in the official
swift:${{ matrix.swift }}images (6.1 and 6.2), the same approach the Cross-Compile jobs use. It no longer uses setup-swift.check-inlinable.shinstallspython3if the image doesn't have it.macOS 6.1 and iOS 6.1 still use setup-swift v2. #57 can be closed, or kept for those platforms once v3 is fixed upstream.
Note
On
masterthe Cross-Compile jobs fail until #72 is merged, and they will fail on this PR for the same reason. The relevant checks here are Linux (Swift 6.1) and Linux (Swift 6.2).https://claude.ai/code/session_011WSUtoLptjea3s3iC5wTNC
