Closes #575

What

  • The admin and the plugin SDK take godmin 0.27.0.
  • The admin's own copies of the kept text store and the list dialog hooks are gone. The lists use godmin's useUnsavedText and markLatest, useCloseWhileOpen, the focus rule inside useListRun, and useFocusBack. Media's cells carry godmin's data-item-id mark.
  • The posts lists now keep the focus in a dialog opened while a run goes, as Content Types and Media already did.
  • The plugin SDK hands out the store, ListEmpty, useCloseWhileOpen, useFocusBack, focusedTrigger and focusInDialog, and its tests fail when a piece it expects is missing.
  • The SDK guide tells plugin authors how to keep what a reader typed after a failed save, title an empty list, and close and refocus their dialogs.

Why

godmin now ships these pieces, built from the admin's own copies, so one shared copy keeps both admins and their plugins doing the same.

Testing Instructions

No visible change, so no screenshots. Run the testing toolchain.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Plugin developers can use SDK tools for empty-list states, dialog focus handling, and retaining unsaved text.
  • Bug Fixes
    • List and media actions better preserve the active dialog and return focus to the relevant row or control.
    • Failed renames and form submissions can retain entered text, and late save results no longer overwrite newer edits.
  • Documentation
    • Added plugin SDK guidance on dialog behavior, focus restoration, unsaved text, and when to show empty-list hints.

Walkthrough

The admin upgrades to godmin 0.27.0 and replaces local list, dialog, and focus helpers with shared APIs. The plugin SDK re-exports those APIs and documents their use. Tests cover SDK exports and dialog focus behavior.

Changes: Shared list and dialog APIs

Layer / File(s) Summary
Replace local list and dialog helpers
frontend/package.json, frontend/src/lists/*, frontend/src/content/NameModals.tsx, frontend/src/content/TypeModals.tsx, frontend/src/content/TypesScreen.tsx, frontend/src/content/actions.tsx, frontend/src/content/typeActions.tsx, frontend/src/test/posts-actions.test.tsx
The admin upgrades godmin and imports shared unsaved-text and dialog/list focus APIs. Local helper modules are removed. A regression test verifies that a successful trash request leaves a newer Rename dialog open and focused.
Update media dialog triggers and focus handling
frontend/src/media/MediaModals.tsx, frontend/src/media/MediaScreen.tsx, frontend/src/media/actions.tsx, frontend/src/media/fields.tsx, frontend/src/media/focusBack.ts, frontend/src/test/media-actions.test.tsx, frontend/src/test/media-fields.test.tsx, test/e2e/tests/media.spec.ts
Media dialogs now use Trigger values and godmin focus helpers. Media fields use data-item-id. Unit and end-to-end focus tests use trigger terminology; their focus assertions remain in place.
Expose and document the shared APIs
sdk/frontend/package.json, sdk/frontend/index.ts, sdk/frontend/test/dialogs.test.ts, sdk/frontend/test/list-kit.test.ts, docs/src/content/docs/extending/the-plugin-sdk.md
The SDK re-exports godmin list, focus, and unsaved-text APIs. SDK tests check exported functions and types. The guide documents dialog focus, retained input, and ListEmpty usage.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title "refactor: Take the kept text store and the list dialog hooks from godmin" matches the main change. The PR upgrades godmin to 0.27.0 and replaces the admin's local unsaved-text store and list-dialog hooks (closeWhileOpen, focusOnList, unsavedText, focusBack) with godmin equivalents. It also re-exports those helpers from the plugin SDK and documents them. The title is specific and concise, and it uses the conventional refactor prefix. It does not mention the SDK exports or docs, which is an acceptable omission for a title.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

The PR meets the coding requirements in #575. Both packages use @gopherium/godmin 0.27.0. The admin removes the local unsaved-text and dialog-focus copies and uses the godmin APIs. The admin updates post, content, and media focus behavior, including data-item-id. The SDK exports useUnsavedText, markLatest, UnsavedText, ListEmpty, and the dialog and focus APIs. SDK tests check export presence and identity with godmin. The guide documents failed-save text retention, empty-list titles, and dialog focus behavior.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes remain within #575. Dependency updates, local-copy removal, admin integration, SDK exports, focused regression tests, export tests, and SDK guide updates directly support the linked issue. No unrelated product change is identified.

RetriggerView in GreptileConfidence Score: 5/5

[Medium impact] Safe to merge based on the changes since the previous review: the only additional change documents two test-helper parameters and does not alter executable code.

Summary

The PR replaces local text-saving and dialog-focus helpers with godmin 0.27.0 and shares them through the plugin SDK. It also adds SDK guidance and checks for missing exports.

Since the previous review, only the parameter comments for expectGodmins changed. They accurately describe the function’s arguments and do not change its behavior. No new issues or repository-rule violations were identified in those changes. Tests were not run.

  • Failed saves keep what people typed for another try.
  • List actions and media dialogs keep focus in the right place.
  • Plugins can use the admin’s shared list and dialog tools.

Code Review ✅ Approved

🟡 Medium risk · Replacing local list and dialog hooks with godmin 0.27.0 and exposing them through the SDK could disrupt focus restoration or retained edits.

Replaces the admin's local kept text store and list dialog hooks with godmin 0.27.0 equivalents across lists, media, and the plugin SDK, and updates the SDK guide for plugin authors. No issues found.
