π docs: say Hive Commons is a CNCF Sandbox project on the community intro page - #576
Conversation
β¦ro page The TOC vote passed on 2026-10-28 (cncf/sandbox#516), but the page still linked only the Sandbox application. Link the vote and the onboarding issue (cncf/sandbox#545) instead. Closes #575 Signed-off-by: outreach <280983584+hivecommons-hive[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>

There was a problem hiding this comment.
Looks correct to me.
Checked against main: the only remaining reference to the Sandbox application (cncf/sandbox#516) in docs/content is the "Where next" bullet at docs/content/community/what-is-hive-commons.md:95, and this PR rewrites it to the onboarding issue, so the page is internally consistent after the change. The changelog fragment name follows the <category>-<issue>-<slug>.md form the repo's fragment test expects. No code paths are touched.

Outreach Content
Closes #575
The CNCF TOC accepted Hive Commons into the Sandbox on 2026-10-28. The docs site's community intro page still pointed readers to the Sandbox "application". This is the page that introduces the project family, so it should state the current status and link to the vote and the onboarding issue.
Changes:
docs/content/community/what-is-hive-commons.md: one sentence after the intro saying Hive Commons is a CNCF Sandbox project. It links to the TOC vote and to onboarding. The "Where next" bullet now points to onboarding instead of the application.changelog.d/changed-575-cncf-sandbox-status.md: changelog fragment.Claim evidence
gitvote/passedandgitvote/closed. CNCF automation commented on it: "The Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) vote has been completed successfully".No compliance or certification claim is made, and no roadmap commitment is added.
Deliberately not changed (needs a human)
join-hive-commons.md. The page does not yet say how a project joining Hive Commons fits CNCF IP and trademark terms. That is a governance question for maintainers.Validation
