📖 docs(readme): document Agent Skill install for Codex and Gemini CLI - #360
Conversation
Both read the shared ~/.agents/skills directory from the Agent Skills standard, so one copy step covers them. Pin the per-directory install snippets in skill.test.ts so none drops out of the README. Closes #359 Signed-off-by: outreach <280983584+hivecommons-hive[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>

Looks correct to me — docs-only change plus a README pin test, and the vendor claims check out.
What I verified against the current vendor pages (not just the PR body):
- Codex:
$HOME/.agents/skillsis the USER scope and.agents/skillsis the REPO scope;$mention //skillsinvokes a skill (developers.openai.com/codex/skills, "Where Codex loads local skills"). - Gemini CLI: user skills at
~/.gemini/skills/or the~/.agents/skills/alias, workspace at.agents/skills/; activation shows a consent prompt;/skills listlists them (geminicli.com/docs/cli/skills/).
So the README's "both read the shared ~/.agents/skills directory" (README.md:64) and the invocation lines (README.md:515–517) are accurate.
src/skill.test.ts:241 asserts the exact mkdir -p <dir>\n / cp -r skills/promptargs <dir>/\n pair for all three user dirs, and dist/skill.test.js + .js.map are regenerated in the same commit, so the dist-sync gate is satisfied. No findings.

Closes #359
Why
The README (synced verbatim to docs.hivecommons.dev/docs/promptargs) told Codex and Gemini CLI users nothing, although both load the same Agent Skills format we already ship. Both read the shared
~/.agents/skills/.agents/skillspath, so one copy step serves both — no new skill file, no change toSKILL.md.The new test in
src/skill.test.tspins themkdir/cppair for each user skills directory (Copilot, Claude Code, shared.agents), so a later README edit cannot silently drop one. It fails against currentmain(verified locally) and passes with this change; full suite 522/522,npm run lintclean,dist/rebuilt.Claim evidence
$HOME/.agents/skillsand repo skills from.agents/skills;$mentions //skillsinvoke a skill: https://developers.openai.com/codex/skills ("Where Codex loads local skills", "How ChatGPT and Codex use skills")~/.gemini/skills/or the~/.agents/skills/alias and workspace skills from.agents/skills/; activation shows a consent prompt;/skills listlists skills: https://geminicli.com/docs/cli/skills/nameanddescriptionfrontmatter, whichskills/promptargs/SKILL.mdhas (lines 2–3).No claim that promptargs is listed or endorsed by either vendor.
