I wanted to play DOOM on the Maschine: both screens, pads, and sound. No NI software.
Download the ZIP from Releases, unzip it, and drag MaschineMK3.app to Applications.
Apple Silicon, macOS 13+. The app isn't notarized: first launch, right-click → Open.
If macOS still blocks it: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/MaschineMK3.app.
Connect the Maschine over USB, open the app, and press PLAY on the Maschine. Plug headphones or speakers into the Maschine for sound. Quit other software using the device first. SHIFT + STOP quits the game; the splash comes back for another round.

Choose Open WAD Folder in the menu bar, drop in your .wad, then select it in WAD.
The bundled doom1.wad is shareware; bring your own doom.wad or doom2.wad for the full games.
Install Python 3.12, uv, and libusb (brew install libusb).
