Why

ChatGPT's plugin catalog search matches listing keywords loosely and weighs them heavily, and our current set (discovery, intents, matching, opportunities) contains none of the words people actually type. "Find me a cofounder" would not surface Index today.

What

Keywords, long description, example prompts, and the create_intent tool description now reflect the most common kinds of asks observed in aggregate across active intents in the dev database (1,308 intents, 404 members) — stated as generic archetypes, never quoting any member's actual intent:

  • High-value professional asks: cofounder, investors, fundraising, hiring, founding engineer, mentorship, beta users, design partners.
  • Everyday, curiosity-driven asks: new friends in your city, shared hobbies, meeting people while traveling, matchmaking.

Every keyword maps to a recurring theme — no stuffing (OpenAI diffs live tool definitions against published ones and rejects keyword spam).

Changes

  • packages/chatgpt-plugin/plugin.json: keyword set (4 → 20), long description with concrete archetypes, two new default prompts ("I'm in SF next week — who should I meet?", "Help me meet new people in my city."), version 1.2.3 → 1.3.0, release notes.
  • services/api/src/lib/mcp/mcp.tools.ts: create_intent description extended with the same range so in-conversation suggestion quality matches the listing. No behavior change.

After merge

Re-zip the package and resubmit v1.3.0 through the OpenAI developer dashboard (see packages/chatgpt-plugin/README.md). Deploy the API so the live create_intent description matches the resubmitted listing before review.

ChatGPT's catalog search matches listing keywords loosely and weighs
them heavily, and the old set (discovery, intents, matching,
opportunities) contained none of the words members actually type.

Drawn from a sample of active intents in the dev database, the new
keywords, long description, example prompts, and create_intent
description cover both the high-value professional asks (cofounder,
investors, hiring, mentorship, beta users) and the unstructured,
curiosity-driven ones (reading partners, new friends over dinner,
meeting people while traveling).

Bumps the plugin to 1.3.0 for resubmission; no tool behavior changes.

Example prompts and descriptions now state the most frequent kinds of
asks in aggregate (new friends in your city, shared hobbies, meeting
people on a trip) instead of quoting any single member's intent.
