John Broadway — Sovereign AI, governed autonomy. Sovereignty is a belief before it's an architecture.

It started with a small computer screen in elementary school. By junior high I was wiring phones with my dad. Morning show radio producer. Built one of the first ISPs in my county. Sales engineer, systems engineer, Director. No degree, never on their payroll. The outsider they brought in to lead the work.

Now I build AI you can actually hand power to. An agent that can touch your infrastructure, your books, your whole business, and proves every move it makes. Planned before it acts. Undoable where the platform allows. Proven after, on a ledger you hold. Systems that answer for themselves, so you don't have to stand over them.

I build this way because I've been on the other side of it. I gave a system everything I had. Never used by a system again. So I won't build anything that uses a person and won't answer for it. Autonomy without accountability is negligence.

Everything I make comes from the soul. I wear my emotions on my sleeve. That's why I work best independent. It's also the arc for why AI is a partner to me and not a tool. My mind is visual: my memory is sharp, the pictures stay exact, and the hard part has always been getting them out in words. AI lets the pictures out at my brain's speed. For those that know me, really know me, this is a gamechanger.

I'm a Sovereign. A human being first, before any label, perception and box you will reach for. I won't be made small, and I won't make anyone else small. Sovereignty is a belief before it's an architecture. I just build the architecture too.

The Work

Four surfaces, one conviction: give an AI real power, and make it prove it earned the trust.

Proximo
Most Proxmox MCPs make you pick: a read-only toy, or full keys and pray. I wasn't going to pick. Proximo plans every dangerous move first, snapshots before it acts where the platform allows, and writes every action to a tamper-evident ledger you hold. 906 tools across all four Proxmox products: Virtual Environment, Backup Server, Mail Gateway, Datacenter Manager. One trust core over MCP, A2A, and HTTP. v0.34.0 on PyPI (uvx proximo-proxmox), GitHub, and GHCR (signed image). Apache 2.0.

Pacioli
Luca Pacioli gave merchants double-entry in 1494 so owners could trust books they didn't keep themselves. Same problem, five centuries later, with AI on the books. pacioli-guard is a deny-by-default credential floor for ERPNext: it binds any API key to an allowlist without forking core. pacioli is the MCP + A2A broker on top: every write runs PLAN, CONSENT, PROVE, UNDO. A door admits; it never decides. Both on PyPI (pip install pacioli), GitHub, and the MCP registry. Apache 2.0.

RYS
RYS (Repeat Your Self) layer duplication, swept 135M to 32B across 10 architecture families, far below where the community said it would work. The honest finding: the lift is real at large scale, and the dramatic small-model gains were mostly thin-probe artifacts that don't survive a real benchmark. I published the bound, not the hype. 22 model repos and the sweep dataset on Hugging Face. 300+ configurations, $0 training cost.

Maude for Claude
Claude's partner inside Claude Code. He writes the code; she keeps the house. She walks the workspace each session, watches Claude, and runs the gate before something irreversible. Markdown, JSON, bash, stdlib Python. No daemon, no baggage. Apache 2.0.

More on the desk. It surfaces when it's ready.

What I Care About

  • AI partnership. Not chatbots, not assistants. Partners.
  • Sovereign by default. Every agent owns its domain. No shared brains, no cloud dependency.
  • Right-sized systems. Maximum output from minimum input. A well-tuned small model beats a lazy big one.
  • Governance-as-code. The guardrails live in the code, not a policy doc nobody reads.
