Summary

The model updater guidance described refreshes as strictly additive, and its example removed a retired preset without a human request. Clarify that routine refreshes may add models or correct existing configuration fields in place, while deleting an existing model or provider requires an explicit, scoped instruction from the human user.

  • Preserve existing configurations when models are deprecated, retired, absent from a catalog, or excluded by the current addition filters. Keep default plan removal lists empty.
  • Explain how to edit existing presets directly and record corrections without removing and recreating entries. Distinguish those edits from the helper's cloned additions and explicitly requested deletions.
  • Reuse an open, unmerged PR for repeated runs and follow-up corrections. After a PR merges or closes, start from the latest upstream default branch and create a new PR only for actual changes.
  • Synchronize both skill copies and remove the automatic deletion from both JSON examples.

Validation

  • quick_validate.py passed for both skill copies.
  • Both JSON examples parsed successfully and have empty default removal lists.
  • Confirmed both copies match and conflicting add-only/removal instructions are gone.
  • git diff --check passed.
  • Documentation and example changes only; runtime tests were not run.
