Hello LM Studio team,
I would like to contribute a professionally reviewed Persian (fa-IR) localization and RTL support to Bionic through an official, supported route.
Before filing this request, I searched the LM Studio organization for Bionic localization, Persian, and RTL issues. I found general RTL discussions (for example, localization#272 and lms#568), but no Bionic-specific catalog or contribution path.
What I verified in a local Windows test with Bionic 1.0.9 (build 2):
- the main and settings UI displayed in English;
- unsent mixed Persian/Latin/numeral input rendered right-aligned and RTL correctly in the composer;
- the public
lmstudio-ai/localization repository appears to cover LM Studio, but I could not find a Bionic catalog or Bionic contribution instructions.
Could you please document the minimum supported contribution interface for Bionic localization?
- The official repository/catalog format and contribution steps.
- How a locale declares
fa-IR and direction: rtl, including LTR isolation for code, paths, URLs, and model IDs.
- The supported preview and validation workflow.
If that interface is not public yet, simply confirming the intended repository or tracker would be enough to unblock a proper contribution.
I prepared a small clean-room readiness kit with candidate locale metadata, mixed-direction acceptance cases, an RTL review checklist, and dependency-free validation rules:
https://github.com/MiRHaDi/bionic-fa-readiness-kit
The kit contains no Bionic binaries, extracted strings, or claim of a completed Bionic translation. It can be adapted to the official format once that format is published or confirmed.
Thank you.
