Zero can break blocks with his head and feet from the start in every Zero style, including co-op. Native collision and destruction checks use Zero's innate abilities while preserving X's collected armor and upgrade requirements.

Promotes the game to stable 2.3.0 and removes the automatic -alpha build suffix. Documents the feature and adds unit coverage plus a ROM-backed regression for compiled/interpreted head and foot destruction, both behavior modes, and X's upgrade requirements.

Validation on exact head d110cf1 with current main's unchanged engine/UI/library pins:

  • CI build passed. Fresh Windows MinGW Release and Linux GCC Release builds completed; CTest on each platform: 25 passed, zero failed, two optional donor-asset render/wave checks skipped.
  • All 32 native Zero head/foot cases pass per platform through compiled and interpreted entry, with unchanged inventory and X's upgrade gates. Zero unit coverage also checks every inventory value and both bank mirrors.
  • Packaged Windows ZIP and actual Linux AppImage report 2.3.0 and run the scripted title-to-Highway route for 2800 frames from non-ASCII install folders, with nonblank gameplay captures. Windows startup uses a PATH without developer tools. Normal shipped audio/window defaults remain enabled.
  • ZIP transitive DLL closure and AppImage portable-state/native-picker tests pass. Both payloads exclude private ROM/save/cache/binding data and CD Speed/Fast Loading packages.

Tracking: beads-8wg.1.137 (feature), beads-8wg.1.138 (stable release).
