# 🎓 Course Selling Web App

This is a simple Course Selling Platform built using Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, EJS, and JWT-based authentication. It supports two user roles:

- **Admin**: Can create and update courses.
- **User**: Can sign up, view courses, and purchase them.

## 🚀 Getting Started

### 1. Clone the Repository

```bash
git clone https://github.com/your-username/course-selling.git
cd course-selling
````

### 2. Install Dependencies

```bash
npm install
```

### 3. Create `.env` File

In the root directory, create a `.env` file and add the following:

```env
MONGODB_URI=mongodb://localhost:27017/course-selling
JWT_ADMIN_SECRET=your_admin_jwt_secret
JWT_USER_SECRET=your_user_jwt_secret
PORT=5000
```

### 4. Start MongoDB

Make sure MongoDB is running on your system:

```bash
mongod
```

### 5. Start the Server

```bash
npm start
```

Now go to `http://localhost:5000` in your browser.

* `GET /update/course` → Render update form

* `GET /purchase` → Render purchase form
* `POST /purchase` → Purchase a course

## 🛠️ Known Issues

* If you face errors related to cookies: make sure `cookie-parser` is set up correctly.
* Always use `.env` secrets when signing JWT tokens.
* Confirm that middleware like `userAuth` and `adminAuth` correctly reads cookies.
