I'm Matt, nowadays a backend/platform software developer writing Go and Typescript. I'm something of a jack of all trades, because I don't mind getting my hands dirty when something needs doing. In another life, I worked on embedded C at Cambridge Consultants; and have made or worked on the occasional web frontend in React. I'm a believer in open source and had the privilege of contributing to the Mojaloop project for a couple of years. I've otherwise only made occasional small OSS contributions, but try to support the tools I use in this way or financially. I'm a NixOS user for ten years and a Linux user for fifteen.

Outside of tech, I like to ski, climb, run and build and repair things. Not too long ago, I lived, worked and adventured in my self-converted camper van for four years but have now settled down to apartment life.
