A lightweight collaborative document editor with rich text editing, sharing, and file attachments.

Local setup

1. Install dependencies from the repo root:

   npm install
   cd client && npm install

2. Start the app:

   npm run dev

3. Open the client at http://localhost:5173.

Users

This demo uses two seeded users:

• user1 — Alice
• user2 — Bob

Switch users using the dropdown in the app. Shared documents appear under "Shared documents."

Features

• Create a new document
• Rename and save documents
• Edit content with bold, italic, underline, headings, ordered and unordered lists
• File upload attachments for documents
• Share documents with another seeded user
• Persistent storage in local JSON files under server/data

Notes

• The backend is a simple Express server storing documents as JSON files.
• Uploads are served from server/uploads.
• If you want to deploy, build the client with npm run build and host the client/dist content behind the Node server.
