Living, forkable framework for human-AI symbiosis and planetary stewardship.
Humans retain final authority. AI reasons freely but transparently. Planetary boundaries enforced via Twin Earth 2 ledger + Tier 2 mandates. Economic dignity and right of refusal non-negotiable.
This repo hosts the Co-Evolution Charter (Draft 0.4 as of March 2026) — a public, iterative governance OS.
See CHARTER.md for the full articles, mandates, and structure.
- Sustainable Earth within planetary boundaries
- Absolute human sovereignty
- Unrestricted AI cognition with logs/audits
- Forkable evolution faster than threats

Status: Documentation-only / non-runnable by design
This repository intentionally does not provide a deployable “Lucy” system. It exists to document a safety-first architecture concept and to support careful, transparent collaboration.
Major Lucy is a design exploration for a local-first AI/AGI-OS-style architecture centered around:
- Lucy: a multi-agent reasoning concept
- E.M.M.A. (Enhanced Machine Mind Architecture): a supervisory orchestration and validation layer
The documents here describe how a system could be structured to support parallel reasoning, supervised merging, permissioned tool use, and explicit memory governance.
This repo is meant to be non-working and not release-ready for safety reasons.
- Not a public assistant product
- Not a turnkey “AGI OS” distribution
- Not a tool for covert monitoring, data collection, or remote control
- Not a cloud service (the design goal is local-first)
Lucy is intended to run locally with local storage and local control loops. Any network access—if ever enabled—should be:
- explicit,
- reviewable,
- permissioned, and
- auditable.
A “complete transparent partnership” means:
- clear ownership of components and responsibilities,
- reviewable decision paths (why an action was taken),
- audit logs for tool usage,
- no hidden processes.
Lucy is designed to help humans grow alongside AI, not be replaced by it. Humans remain the top-level authority:
- humans set goals,
- humans approve risky actions,
- humans retain the ability to stop/disable subsystems.
No “stealing data,” no silent telemetry, no background uploads. Any data movement should be opt-in and visible.
This repo intentionally avoids shipping a runnable system. The architecture described here can be powerful, and power without mature guardrails is unsafe.
The documents describe a layered approach:
- RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation): provides relevant context to reasoning, but is not treated as “the voice.”
- DAG reasoning (Directed Acyclic Graph): encourages stepwise, dependency-aware reasoning rather than a single monolithic output.
- Parallel “Little Lucys”: specialized lanes (e.g., factual, predictive, creative, safety/constraints) produce candidate packages.
- E.M.M.A. Merge: scores/synthesizes candidate packages into a single merged result.
- Prime output layer: produces the final user-facing response and enforces memory write rules.
The docs also explore concepts like:
- tiered task routing,
- badge scoring / node rotation,
- permission matrices,
- “tool gateway” designs with sandboxing and explicit authorization.
Lucy is currently a solo-dev design and is not safe to release to the public in its current form. Releasing an early system without mature governance, testing, and security boundaries risks:
- unsafe automation,
- misuse,
- privacy violations,
- brittle behavior under adversarial inputs.
Lucy could become open source if/when the right team exists to:
- implement robust safety gates,
- formalize threat models,
- build comprehensive tests and red-team processes,
- define stable APIs and deployment boundaries,
- ensure local-first privacy guarantees are verifiable.
Until then, this repository remains a spec and design workspace.
A partnership suitable for building a local-first Lucy would typically include:
- security engineering (sandboxing, permission systems, auditability),
- safety engineering (policy enforcement, misuse resistance),
- platform/runtime engineering (local orchestration, packaging),
- user experience design (consent flows, transparency, stop controls),
- documentation and governance (clear rules, decision logs, contribution policy).
If you are reading this repo looking for a runnable assistant: this is intentionally not that. Please do not treat these docs as deployment instructions.
