Summary

  • Add codex-workflows uninstall [--user] [--dry-run]. It removes the managed files whose hash still matches the manifest, prunes directories left empty, and deletes the manifest.
  • Leave locally modified files in place, the way dpkg keeps conffiles on remove. The output lists them and notes that Codex still loads them. Files without a recorded hash (v0.1.0 manifests) are kept too, since their changes cannot be verified.
  • Leave files the user added, .codex-workflows-preserved/, and CODEX_HOME itself untouched.
  • Mention the command in the READMEs with a short note after the status commands.

Validation

  • npm test (23 passed), including new cases for removal and directory pruning, kept modified and user-added files, --user, --dry-run, and an uninstalled target.
  • Ran install then uninstall in a scratch project with one edited agent file: 108 files and 72 empty directories removed, only .codex/agents/solver.toml left.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

`codex-workflows uninstall [--user] [--dry-run]` removes the managed
files whose hash still matches the manifest, prunes directories left
empty, and deletes the manifest. Locally modified files stay in place,
as dpkg keeps conffiles on remove, and are listed in the output with a
note that Codex still loads them. Files without a recorded hash (v0.1.0
manifests) are kept because their changes cannot be verified. Files the
user added and .codex-workflows-preserved/ are left untouched.

Mention the command in the READMEs.
